Health Outreach

La Casita de Salud, a mobile health facility, brings health care and social services to farm workers.

La Casita de Salud is a mobile health education center and farm workers receive practical health education in Spanish, in the fields where they work and the labor camps where they live.

La Casita de Salud provides free health sceening and is staffed by volunteer nurses, nurse practicioners and doctors. Health services include vision screening, high blood pressure screening, anemia testing, and cholesterol screening as well as providing health education and referrals. Various social welfare related services are also provided.br>
La Casita de Salud vehicle was made possible through donations from Whole Foods Market and the Daughters of Charity Foundation.

The goal of the community health outreach component is

• to cultivate disease prevention and health promotion through education and screening, and
• to advocate health services directly in Pájaro.
